Pakistan and World Bank Collaborate to Combat Smog

Pakistan has agreed with the World Bank to jointly work on hurting smog. This agreement was reached during the meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Country Director of the World Bank, Najy Benhassine, in Islamabad.

It was announced that a team would be formed to co-represent CDA and the World Bank to form an anti-smog plan. Mohsin Naqvi thanked the World Bank for its cooperation in improving air quality in Islamabad. He also pointed to examples like the setting up of potential anti-smog machines in the capital that would tackle the issue of smog proactively.

The minister of interior underlined the government’s priority regarding the uplift of slums and rural areas, directing attention toward the provision of safe drinking water and improvement of sanitation to the residents.
