According to knowledgeable sources, projections suggest that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) would fail to meet its target regarding tax collection by over Rs. 255 billion within the first five months of the current fiscal year.
In November alone, FBR would fall short of reaching a target of Rs. 1,003 billion by about Rs. 150 billion, while it has already recorded a shortfall of Rs. 102 billion over the last few months.

As sources state, against such protests in the federal capital, there is no apparent low impact concerning overall revenue; the only adverse affecting conditions would be that of tax collections in Islamabad and Lahore. However, Karachi would continue to top the FBR pool in that respect.
Tax officials expect November collections to come at around Rs. 850 billion, falling short of the target set for the month by quite a margin.
