On International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, President Asif Ali Zardari declared that Israel must be condemned because of its prominent aggressions and called for an end to the genocide of Palestinians through immediate global intervention.
In his message on Friday, the president urged that there should be decisive action by the international community when he pointed out that the continued occupation and violations of international law are the obstacles to peace in the region. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support to the Palestinian population’s right to self-determination and the foundation of an independent state, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. It will be based on the pre-1967 borders.
“The plight of millions cannot be ignored by global conscience under the shackles of Israeli occupation,” he added, mentioning his solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom, dignity, and justice.

Reminding about the continuous atrocities in Gaza and other occupied territories, he said this has left more than 45,000 victims in just one year, mostly women and children. These are the statistics of lives lost as a result of Israeli aggression. He condemned the deliberate obstruction of life-saving humanitarian aid, a reality that aggravates the suffering of millions and causes hindrance to UNRWA’s work.
The president warned that action and impunity on the part of Israel could cause instability and disturb peace throughout the region. According to him, the only action left is for the United Nations Security Council to adopt an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, provide unhindered humanitarian relief to Gaza, and hold Israel accountable for being “plausible genocide,” as stated by the International Court of Justice.
He indicated that let today be a very strong indicative day for our common responsibility to achieve justice and equality for the Palestinian people, reiterating Pakistan’s steadfast support of the undisputed rights of Palestine and pursuing measures for accountability against Israel’s violations.
