He called for political parties to transcend all differences and work together for the country’s betterment of the media in Sialkot, according to Defense Minister Khawaja Asif. He stressed the importance of national unity regardless of political differences.
Asif lambasted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying that it had taken this attitude by going to visit only the establishment and by granting the entire dependence of the political behavior of PTI to its former army chief Gen (retd) Bajwa. Accusations of distortions also came during the PTI protests, for which evidence of police infiltration and the number of casualties reported were questioned.

He condemned politicizing journalism and demanded neutrality from the journalists citing the incidents involving the journalist, Matiullah Jan, and the worth of statements made about him.
He called the allegations of deaths in the protests at D-Chowk by PTI baseless as it mocked inconsistent death tolls by PTI leaders and demanded evidence. It further alleged the internal brawls within PTI citing newspaper reports on the scuffles involving Bushra Bibi and other party members.
Assured the people that the restriction on the internet and blockage of VPNs would soon end, and announced that there would be no further attacks like “May 9 2.0.”
