The government of Punjab has introduced stricter action plans to lessen air pollution and ensure air quality in the province. Lahore is further targeted in this announcement.
Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb manifested that route permits will be suspended for vehicles with faulty engines as well as those with excessive raw emissions. There would also be a restriction to heavy vehicles, including trucks and buses, entering Lahore on Fridays and Sundays.
The recent burst of inspection activities has clamped down upon more than 1,000 sources of smoke-outward travel with malfunctioning engines, leading to an immigration cut of 144 vehicles, thus embracing the already serious province plan for pollution reduction and improving the environment for its citizens.

The other seizure of 64 sand trolleys also applies to violators of smog regulations, especially for not covering their loads.
The senior minister emphasized that ongoing work, such as sprinkling the roads and cleaning campaigns, is important for addressing the issue. Maryam Aurangzeb says these are the first steps of a long-term plan aimed at eradicating smog in the next 8 to 10 years. The war against air pollution, such as this, is touted to be one of the most critical measures toward protecting the health and well-being of citizens.
