Record Fine collection by NHMP 2024

The NHMP (National Highways and Motorways Police) has shown very good performance in the year 2024 by issuing up to 13.3 million tickets and charging Rs. 15.4 billion in fines between January to November.

NHMP provides 4736 kilometers of critical routes including M-1, M-2, and M-5, with a total of 15,607 sanctioned positions, and 9098 of these officers serving from that total. The department was established in 1997 for enforce the National Highway Safety Ordinance (NHSO) 2000, which includes traffic regulation; commuter assistance; and axle load control.

“In the year, even the Axle Load Control Regime has alone contributed to the rising revenues: fines shot up by 133% to Rs 4.26 billion.” Other than this, about 1.6 million commuters got help from the hands of NHMP staff during this period which reflected their commitment to the services.

In the Cashless and E-ticketing initiatives, NHMP has resorted to modernization to improve efficiency in its operations. The Drivers Licensing Authority has continued to issue licenses in accordance with global standards, and since 2014, more than 144,000 of such have already been issued.
