The Punjab government has embarked on the plan of extending the Green Line Metro Bus service from Lahore to Kasur to boost public transportation access in the region.
A feasibility study has been ordered by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for expanding the city metro network. The feasibility study will examine the feasibility of extending the metro bus track from Gajumata to Kasur City, making sure the extension is possible and economically viable.
This work has already been done by the Punjab Transport Department concerning this feasibility study. The results will pave the way for ascertaining the finance and other resources needed for the realization of the project.

Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan said that the extension of the Green Line Metro Bus would occur under a larger framework for upgrading the Bus Rapid Transit System, wherein residents of Kasur would enjoy convenient and reliable access through the extended metro bus service as soon as it comes on with that lineup.
He added that “the final call on financing will depend on the feasibility study, which will tell the steps that need to be taken to connect Kasur with the Lahore metro network.
