Pakistan and Iraq are further reaffirming their commitment to strengthening existing defense ties.
The same was expressed in the visit of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza with Iraq leadership: Prime Minister Mohammad Shia’ Al Sudani, Defence Minister Thabet Muhammad Saeed Al-Abbasi, Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al Shammari and Chief of Defence Forces General Abdul Ameer Rasheed Yar Allah in Baghdad.
The two discussed significant areas such as security and defense cooperation as well as regional realities they face.

They were searching for a way to increase the military cooperation’s scope.
The Iraqi civil and military leadership appreciated the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized the sacrifice paid for the fight against terrorism.
