Rumors are swirling that Nothing is working on three new smartphones, expanding its portfolio. Initially, it was assumed one of these would be the highly anticipated Nothing Phone (3), but recent insights suggest otherwise.
The device with model number A059, spotted on Geekbench, is now believed to be the Nothing Phone (3a). This was confirmed through an IMEI database listing, which also identified another model, A059P. In Nothing’s naming convention, the “P” stands for “Plus,” implying this device is the Nothing Phone (3a) Plus. The third device, model number A001, was revealed in the same database and is speculated to be either the Nothing Phone (3) or the CMF Phone 2, aligning with Nothing’s cost-effective CMF sub-brand.

Key Details:
- Nothing Phone (3a): Expected to feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, a shift from the previous use of MediaTek processors.
- Nothing Phone (2a): Uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro.
- Nothing Phone (2a) Plus: Comes with the Dimensity 7350 Pro.
- Nothing Phone (3a) Plus: Anticipated to receive a slight upgrade in processing power.
Interestingly, the rumored CMF Phone 2 is also expected to utilize the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, suggesting a potential standardization of chipsets across Nothing’s upcoming midrange and entry-level devices.
Expected Launch Timeline:
- Although no official announcement has been made, speculation points to all three devices launching with Android 15. The Phone (2a) debuted in March 2023, so its successor may follow suit with a release within the next 2-3 months.
- The absence of the Nothing Phone (3) in 2023 signals a shift in strategy. The company has confirmed a high-end device arriving in 2025, likely in the second half of the year.
