Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has officially issued a directive to the Capital Development Authority (CDA), urging them to complete the much-awaited Serena Interchange project within three months. Naqvi reviewed the construction progress himself and expressed the importance of completing the project, worthy of Rs. 4.2 billion, on schedule.
It has been projected to work to relieve the burden of a traffic scenario for people residing in Islamabad and traveling from other cities. Naqvi is of the view that there will be improved vehicular flow into the capital once the project is completed.

It envisages developing three underpasses with loops for convenient traffic movement, out of which two will be on Srinagar Highway, while the other will be constructed at Khyaban-i-Suharwardi. This will provide connectivity and alleviate the traffic bottlenecks in some of the major areas of Islamabad.
Naqvi also added a thorough briefing about the progress of the project and asked the CDA to manage traffic to minimize the inconvenience during the remaining work.
