Anti-regime groups in Syria have captured Homs’ Rastan and Talbiseh districts, a strategically important region serving as a gateway to the capital, Damascus.
Although the people went to celebrate the victory of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)-led opposition against the Syrian regime forces on 27 November, they abandoned their hopes of dropping against the regime when HTS caused clashes with them.
They made a significant advancement after capturing the heart of the city early this week and have increased their presence in Homs.
Well, this morning, anti-regime groups managed to take over Rastan and Talbiseh, two important districts that belong to the M5 highway linking Aleppo, Hama, and Homs to Damascus.

Anti-regime groups that took the village of Ter Maela and seized the town of Dar al-Kabirah to the north are advancing within three kilometers of Homs’ northern outskirts. They have also taken over villages like Elguntu, Zaferene, Mecdel, Deyr Fol, Asiile, and Abu Humame, between the properties of Hashimiye, East Ferhane, West Ferhane, and several villages not yet mentioned, such as Vazeiyye, Izzeddin, Al-Gasibiyye, and Al-Mekremiyye, Sa’en, and Granada.
The groups are taking their operations any further on Hama into Homs and placing themselves toward the Selimiye district.
The latest developments in Syria that have involved clashes between waxen Syrian regime forces and anti-regime forces began on November 27th against the western countryside of Aleppo.
By November 30, the opposition forces had controlled most of the city center of Aleppo and gained prominence over Idlib Province.
Later on December 5, after intense fighting, anti-regime forces took control of the city center of Hama from the regime.
Meanwhile, on December 1, the opposition Syrian National Army initiated Operation Dawn of Freedom against the PKK/YPG terror group in the Tel Rifaat district in the countryside of Aleppo, liberating it from the terrorist elements.
