The Judicial Magistrate of Gujranwala Sidra Gul Nawaz has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, for his failure to show up in court proceedings concerning a case from 2020. The very same court issued an order for his production on the 12th of December.
The case, which stemmed from events at a Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally in Gujranwala, was registered with the Satellite Town police station on 16 October 2020. Specifically, the charges leveled are of removing containers and a vehicle having been driven over cops in the course of the protest.

Court Proceedings and Charges
While the relevant acquittal in the case has gone through Khurram Dastagir, Imran Khalid Butt, and Salman Khalid Butt, the police submitted a challan against Rana Sanaullah. Despite a police report under Section 173 declaring him innocent, the court rejected the report and summoned him for proceedings. Sanaullah’s continuous absence from the hearings brought about the warrant.
