The Anti-Terrorism Court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and several senior leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the GHQ attack case. The warrants were signed by Judge Amjad Ali Shah of ATC Rawalpindi, directing the Rawalpindi Police to arrest the accused and produce them before the court by December 10.

Imposition of Charges and Arrest
Among the 25 accused are Shibli Faraz, Shehryar Afridi, Zain Qureshi, Kanwal Shauzab, Tahir Sadiq, and Malik Taimoor Masood among others. This has been followed by the December 5 indictment of PTI founding father Imran Khan and 60 other toppers in the same case. Charges against them arose from the violent demonstrations following Khan’s arrest on May 9, which resulted in many attacks on military installations, like the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
Already 4 PTI leaders, including Omar Ayub and Raja Basharat, have been arrested by the police, while another 23 have been declared absconders. These warrants came as a continuation of the legal machinery targeting those believed to have been responsible for the May 9 violence.
