The traffic advisory of the NDMA has been issued for tourists traveling to Murree owing to the incessant rain and snowfall. According to Dg Irfan Ali Kathia, the possible threat here is attributed to the forecasts that predict the conditions to persist for close to another 24 hours and affect traffic movement along with road conditions.
Local authorities have initiated salting the roads in order to make them less slippery for safer travel. DG Kathia said the Murree administration should stay prepared to deploy heavy machinery for prompt snow clearance to keep highways operational.

The NDMA has established 13 facilitation centers across Murree to guide and assist the tourists with relevant information and services to enable them to get through unfortunate conditions. Tourists have also been advised to check on the weather before their trips and to make responsible decisions about traveling in bad weather.
