As directed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the authorities need to formulate an action plan regarding the safe evacuation of Pakistanis from Syria through adjacent countries. He said this during a review meeting about the ongoing situation and stressed ensuring the safety of the lives and properties of Pakistani citizens. The Pakistan Embassy in Damascus has been instructed by him to set up an information desk with helpline assistance for Pakistanis. Until the situation improves security-wise, the Crisis Management Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with information desks at Pakistani embassies in Syria and neighboring countries, will serve 24/7.

The meeting also comprised Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and senior officials from relevant departments.
