The School Education Department (SED) has banned mobile phone usage in all public sector schools to promote discipline and transparency. In a 20-point set of guidelines, district and tehsil education officers, along with school heads, must ensure strict compliance.
Key Directives:
- Mobile Phones: Teachers, students, and non-teaching staff must submit their mobile phones to the head teacher during school hours.
- Dress Code: Staff must follow a prescribed dress code, including wearing closed shoes and navy blue jerseys. Both teachers and students must display name badges.

- Classroom Management: Each class must appoint a representative, and schools must display three to four motivational banners or flex boards.
- Attendance and Grooming: Maintain a student attendance register and display attendance, subjects, and key teaching points on classroom whiteboards. Regular monitoring of students’ grooming, such as checking nails and hair, is mandatory.
- Morning Assemblies: Attendance of all teaching staff, including the head teacher, is compulsory during morning assemblies.
These measures aim to enhance the educational environment by ensuring discipline and accountability.
