Condemnation has been very strong by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the military aggression of Israel against Lebanon. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unchanged position towards the sovereignty and integrity of territories of Lebanon.
In a telephone conversation with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Shehbaz Sharif mentioned the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, as well as the greater call for another from which the Palestinian people could draw respite.
Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed the close fraternal ties existing between Pakistan and Lebanon. Such challenging times indeed come during difficult moments in life. The concern for Pakistan would be in providing humanitarian assistance and aid to Lebanon when it is needed.

Also, the two leaders discussed the impasse that prevailed in Syria. Sharif also wanted intervention from the Prime Minister to get out the stranded Pakistani nationals in Syria through Beirut.
Prime Minister Mikati, in reaction to that, was thankful for the principled unwavering support and prominent stance of Pakistan on events in Lebanon, something he referred to as the very essence of the warm and brotherly relations between countries. He, of course, told them that Lebanon would take care of all they did in helping Pakistanis and availing them of safe return.
After the talks, Prime Minister Sharif directed the Pakistan ambassadors in Syria and Lebanon to facilitate the stranded citizens and arrange their safe evacuation from scooped territories.
