It was observed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that remittances have broken all records and reduced the weekly inflation rate to 3.57 percent. At a federal cabinet meeting held in Islamabad, he particularly mentioned that the very remittances reflect the trust overseas Pakistanis have. The remittances had increased despite a call for civil disobedience from one political party; it was questioned as an act of enmity against Pakistan.
Underlining the need for stability in politics towards economic growth, Prime Minister mentioned a recent sit-in regarding law and order. Issued directives on those who attempted to attack the federal capital will be brought to justice, innocent individuals untouched.

Two billion dollars from Azerbaijan are to be invested into Pakistan, as he announced. Ambassador of Azerbaijan stressed on project formulation and preparing feasibility studies to carry on with the agreements.

On the issue of Pakistanis stranded in Syria, he mentioned, there has been evolved a mechanism for safe evacuation of these people through Beirut after consultations with the Prime Minister of Lebanon. He has appealed to his Lebanese counterpart to assist in the evacuation of Pakistanis stranded in Syria and directed the Pakistani ambassador in Syria to take concrete measures for their safe evacuation.
