The U.S. has agreed to facilitate Pakistan in restructuring and modernizing the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Forensic Agency. This agreement was made during a meeting held today between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker, where both dignitaries also discussed how to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation.

While Naqvi shared Pakistan’s vision of transforming the FIA along the lines of the FBI, Baker pledged US assistance in this endeavor. He prioritized the improvement of the National Forensic Agency in dealing with contemporary challenges. He asserted that it was very important to enhance law enforcement capacity, equipping the civil armed forces to counter terrorism and manage emergencies with modern tools. Baker reiterated the agency’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in these initiatives.
