Every citizen of Karachi will enjoy the facility of automated self-service machines, which have been installed by NADRA across the city for the effective application of ID cards. These kiosks are designed in high-traffic localities like mega centers, railway stations, airports, shopping malls, colleges, and government offices, lending quick access to services for citizens.

Earlier tested in Islamabad, this initiative comes as a further step by NADRA to ease queuing at any of its centers. Self-service machines will allow users to apply for renewal of ID cards, lost ID cards, or apply for Child Registration Certificates (Form B). The citizen can enter details, go through biometric verification, and get a picture taken here. Payment can be made through JazzCash, Easypaisa, or using credit and debit cards by scanning a QR code generated by the machine.
NADRA Assistant Director Ammar Haider said that the service will kick off from NADRA mega centers and then will be opened at several public locations. This process would be completely automated to save the time and effort that people generally have in acquiring these services from NADRA offices. In case of completion of the application, the ID card will be dispatched within 15 to 30 days.
