Falcon Aviation to Launch Air Taxi Services in UAE by 2026

Falcon Aviation Services, an Abu Dhabi-based company, is set to introduce air taxi services in the UAE from 1 January 2026. This information has been disclosed by Ramandeep Oberoi, Chief Executive Officer of Falcon Aviation Services. The firm had already struck a deal with a US-based electric flying car maker, Archer Aviation, to create a dynamic vertiport infrastructure within Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Both vertiports will be set up at Atlantis, The Palm, in Dubai, and Marina Mall heliport at Abu Dhabi’s Corniche, which will equally empty travel experience with a scenic 30-minute journey above the water with Archer’s Midnight flying car.

These flying taxis are part of the partnership’s plans to reduce vehicular traffic congestion from March 2024. It will start trail runs of the Midnight flying car in Al Ain in May 2025 for hot and dusty conditions before moving into Abu Dhabi. Both cities are actively working towards the implementation of these services. Initially, the services will be operational for Abu Dhabi, with interconnectivity between Abu Dhabi and Dubai targeted for mid-2026. Future routes will connect Ras Al Khaimah to Dubai and Al Ain to Dubai.

Oberoi explained that air taxis will need to be integrated into the road infrastructure of the UAE. It will be novel at first, but it shall eventually be a necessity. Therefore, the firm is open to recruiting, and bringing about some team members from the US and some joining by local ground operations staff.

The target price set for air travel is Dh1,000 to take a visit by one passenger to Abu Dhabi and back to Dubai. This airfare is likely to start higher than this price level. The maximum limit is, however, twice the taxi fare, with within-city trips pegged at around Dh300.
