In Islamabad, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) board was put on hold as well as for charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) at various fuel stations and gas stations until such time when the federal government had finalized the comprehensive electric vehicle policy. This meeting took place on Tuesday at CDA headquarters, which was chaired by Muhammad Ali Randhawa among many other agenda items to be discussed, including the proposal for EV infrastructure.

The proposal was submitted for making it mandatory for all existing fuel stations in Islamabad to have one EV charging point, while new fuel stations needed to have two EV chargers as per requirement. Though the discussion of this plan commenced, the board chose to postpone it until a comprehensive EV policy is announced by the federal government to avoid any inconsistency of policy.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shabaz Sharif, has been vocal in promoting electric vehicles in the country, for which he has already created a high-power steering committee to finalize the EV possible. But the policy is still in draft form and has not yet actually been clubbed out.
