IPSOS Survey Shows Steady Progress Toward Stability

“The comment of Finance Minister’s advisor Khurram Shehzad on Pakistan’s economic condition will also refer to the latest Ipsos survey that indicates increasing public confidence and continuous strides toward economic stability. The survey stated that the belief in the right direction of the country has almost doubled to 19 percent, which is the highest in the last 36 months. Moreover, concerns of inflation have fallen by 16 the lowest ever in the past 3 and a half years.

The survey indicates a more hopeful future with 21 percent predicting favorable conditions in the local economy within the next six months. Comfort with household purchases improved by 6 points this quarter, and confidence in saving for future use seems to be rising again.

On the issue of stable job protection, the results of the survey stood at 3-year highs. In fact, Pakistan’s Global Consumer Confidence Index has also increased and surpassed Türkiye for the first time in two years, while India, China, and Brazil recorded declines.

According to Khurram Shehzad, these signals indicate increasing public confidence and development ability on the economic resilience front, encouraging the government to maintain this achievement and ensure sufficiency in future sustained economic progress and prosperity for all citizens.

Last week, Shehzad stated that inflation is considerably slowing down and there is room for rate cuts, which could have very favorable effects for businesses, industries, and government debt servicing as well as the overall fiscal balances.”
