Ministry for Privatization, Board of Investment & Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has urged the authorities concerned to speed up the privatization of Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs). In the Lahore meeting of the Privatization Commission Board (PCB), Khan called for speeding up the process and made it clear that privatization has to be done completely transparently.

The Minister asked to arrange a detailed presentation with the Ministry of Power to resolve outstanding issues regarding DISCO’s privatization. The meeting addressed the privatization of some other projects that are in the pipeline. The Minister suggested engaging leading consultancy firms to boost efficiency in the privatization process.
The board discussed the particular appointment of Financial Advisors (FAs) for different privatization projects, as members put forward their suggestions to further streamline the process.
