Thailand Introduces e-Visa Platform for Pakistani and Afghan Nationals

With effect from January 1, 2025, at 10 a.m. (UTC + 7), nationals of foreign countries in Pakistan and Afghanistan would apply for Thai visas via the new online e-Visa platform at https://www.thaievisa.go.th. The Royal Thai Embassy announced that applicants will no longer need to submit their passports or original documents in person. They will have to make payments at the embassy located at Plots No. 1-20, Diplomatic Enclave, Sector G-5/4, Islamabad, as online payment is not yet available.

Once an e-visa application is approved, applicants will receive an email of confirmation, which they will have to print and present to the airline at the point of departure and to Thai immigration officials upon arriving in Thailand.

As of now, those who wish to apply for a visa will still make in-person submissions until December 24, 2024. For further inquiries, you may send an online message via email at consular.isb@mfa.go.th.

Indeed, an effort such as this promises to go a long way toward digitizing Thailand’s visa application process while still offering efficient consular services for travelers in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
