Punjab University postponed its examinations scheduled from December 16 to December 18, which would later on be announced through the revised schedule. It did not indicate the motivation for the specific decision.
The announcement was made following a suspension of papers, the latest being the cancellation of the final examinations scheduled for November 25 on the count of smog. Conscious students voiced annoyance at being inconvenienced endlessly, as it was affecting their academic work.

In yet another event, all public and private schools in Islamabad and Punjab closed on the Monday of the week. Opening it, the Punjab School Education Department said the holiday was due to “an ongoing security situation.” No specific reason for the holiday was cited in the notification from the district administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The chief of the District Education Authority, Amanullah Khan, of Rawalpindi, confirmed the issuance of the notification regarding holidays saying, “We are not aware of the reason for the holiday.”
