Nine individuals are among those who have been indicted by the Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi, which includes former federal minister Shireen Mazari for human rights, in connection with the May 9 attack on the General Headquarters (GHQ). Others in the indictment are Raja Rashid Khafeez, Khadim Hussain, Zakarullah, Azimullah Khan, Major Tahir Sadiq, Mehr Mohammad Javed, and Chaudhry Asif.
About 14 cases with regard to the May 9 incidents were taken up by the court presided over by Judge Amjad Ali Shah, wherein Shah Mehmood Qureshi, a senior leader of the PTI and former foreign minister, was transferred from Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore to Adiala Jail for hearing purposes, although the indictment was deferred. The court marked the appearance of the accused and postponed the hearing with respect to 13 cases till January 6.

In connection with the second case regarding the GHQ attack, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, the former interior minister; Shireen Mazari; and Raja Basharat, the former Punjab law minister, appeared before the court. Also present for the hearing was Imran Khan, former prime minister and PTI founder.
The petition seeking the bail of 23 individuals, including Ali Amin Gandapur, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, has been filed by the prosecution regarding the cancellation of their bail on repeated absence from the hearing. The court called up notices to all the accused and adjourned this hearing until December 19.
