Another human rights tulip award of the Netherlands embassy in Pakistan was given to Pakistani award-winning journalist Asad Ali Toor, in recognition of his powerful reporting on digital rights, press freedom, and democratic rights in Pakistan. Speaking at the event, Ambassador Henny de Vries commended Pakistan’s human rights defenders for their resilience, connoting how refractory they are in promoting fundamental rights, religious freedom, and freedom of expression.

Toor expressed his gratitude on receiving the accolade: “Today is the biggest day of my life and career. My work is being recognized by the international community. This award shall not only motivate me; it will realize the responsibility I now will be undertaking to represent the disadvantaged, with a special look to those in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and among minorities across Pakistan.”
It also has an award given for a small human rights project, along with which Toor may continue his valuable work for human rights and social justice with this financial aid.
