During the debate, PPP MNA Shazia Marri described the act as good legislation, but it needs amendment. She cautioned that the provisions could cause wrongful imprisonment and insisted on reconsideration. Marri also suggested increasing the fine for government officials for rupee errors made by them under the bill to Rs 0.5 million.

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar guaranteed to the House that after the passing of the bill, a forensic lab would be set up in Islamabad. He begs Mari to withdraw her suggested amendments so that the bill could pass expeditiously.

The National Assembly has passed the National Forensic Agency Bill 2024, which is a stride closer to improved forensic services at the national level.
