KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi Demands Provincial Government’s Resignation

KP Governor Faisal Kareem Kundi said that the provincial government should resign because it hasn’t proved effective in dealing with the lawlessness that keeps worsening across the province. Addressing the press in Peshawar, the Highness lamented the security in the province, demanding that the Chief Minister be registered in an FIR regarding the martyrdom of security personnel. It is also mentioned that the provincial administration would be accounted for the crisis.

Kundi went on to say that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is on fire, and its borders are not too far from Punjab. He called for accountability of all those responsible for the recent resurgence of terrorism in the province and went on to ask why PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur was carrying arms during his travel from Islamabad. Showing his discontentment over both federal and provincial governments, Kundi has assessed that both were indifferent towards the people’s plight.

“The province is catching fire, and the government sleeps like a log. The Kurran issue is only an indication of how incompetent the provincial administration is.” Kundi said restrictions on medicines and food were serious and left both governments without action.

He considered the delay in the resolution of this crisis “gross injustice,” suggesting that perhaps authorities are waiting for a big disaster before taking the required actions. As well, he lambasted political parties for optimizing tragedy for political purposes. No federal supervision and judicial inquiries were observed in regard to the increasing violence, according to the governor.

He said that the ministers were too occupied in individual grudges while the entire province was crying under neglect. Commending the police, Kundi said they were insufficiently equipped to handle the terrorism booming in Kurram. “They sacrifice their lives in the face of growing terrorism, but the federal and provincial governments remain silent,” he mused.

Kundi also mentioned making those convening the return of over 40,000 persons uprooted to the province accountable for the chaos, which he believed would have amplified the present situation. “Since 2013, they have brought this province to the brink of disaster,” he accused, alleging that the provincial government was more interested in getting an NRO for Imran Khan than the welfare of the people.
