Pakistan and Iran have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in trade and economics. This agreement includes increasing people-to-people contacts, and it happened during a discussion between Foreign Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the 21st D-8 Council of Foreign Ministers in Cairo.
The two dignitaries expressed deep satisfaction over the progress of bilateral relations marked by increasing high-level political and economic exchanges; they exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and reaffirmed their positions in favor of regional stability.

Pakistan’s principled stand on Palestine was reiterated by Deputy Prime Minister Dar, who also stated solidarity with the Palestinian people in public. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has left for Egypt to participate in the Eleventh Summit of the Developing Eight (D-8) countries. During the summit, he is expected to articulate the need for investment in youth and SMEs to contribute towards building a strong and inclusive economy to create jobs, foster innovation, and promote local entrepreneurship.
The Prime Minister will also take part in a special session on the humanitarian crisis and reconstruction challenges in Gaza and Lebanon. He is anticipated to have bilateral meetings with the involved leaders.
