Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday at the sidelines of the 11th D-8 Summit in Egypt. The Prime Minister stated that relations between Pakistan and Turkiye have a historical and multi-dimensional perspective, highlighting the achievements made under the guidelines of President Erdogan. He stressed increasing economic cooperation in diverse areas like IT, agriculture, and green technologies.
Both leaders discussed further strengthening bilateral relations, boosting economic ties to achieve a five-billion dollar trade target, and re-emphasized cooperation at different levels in the economic, trade, and defense sectors while continuing to support each other on core national issues, Jammu & Kashmir and Cyprus issue.

Both leaders condemned the Israeli actions against the Palestinians and reiterated their commitment to the Palestinian cause. They further discussed the regional scenarios of the Middle East and Syria. President Erdogan also appreciated the economic conditions of Pakistan and its generous help to Palestine and Lebanon in humanitarian terms.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited President Erdogan to the 7th Session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council to be held in Islamabad. Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister Ataullah Tarar also attended the meeting.
