The winter holidays have been announced for the schools and educational institutions of the federal capital Islamabad by the authorities. All public, as well as private, schools would remain closed from December 21, 2024, until January 5, 2025.
The provincial education departments have also declared their winter vacation schedules. In Punjab, the schools will break for winter vacations from December 23, resuming on January 13, 2025. In Sindh, the schools will be off from December 21 to December 31.

Balochistan started its winter holidays on December 16 because of the cold. Schools, colleges, and universities in 20 districts, including Quetta, will now remain closed from December 16. In very cold areas, schools will remain closed until February 28. For warmer regions, the break will fall between January 1 and January 10.
As winter advances, several regions experience chilly weather, while northern hilly areas witness intermittent snowfalls.
