Kazakh Food Exports to UAE See Significant Growth in 2024

Demand for Kazakh food exports is increasing in the United Arab Emirates, which imports agricultural products worth more than $23 billion annually.

Kazakhstan’s agriculture exports to the UAE came under discussion during a meeting between Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliyev, with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.

According to Shakkaliyev, Astana is ready to supply organic agricultural goods and chilled lamb is standing out really well in the UAE market.

Kazakhstan delivered 13,300 tons of lamb to the United Arab Emirates during January-October 2024, valued at 45.3 million dollars.

This represents double the amount exported and revenue grew by 64 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

Kazakhstan can also export high-quality flour, confectionery, sunflower oil, and dairy products to the UAE, according to Shakkaliyev.

Kazakhstan has also committed to the development of halal certification for its agricultural items, Shakkaliyev added.

“More than 1,800 domestic and foreign companies are certified from 2014 to date, which denotes the high standard and compliance of Kazakhstani products with the global standards,” he said.

A tasting event has been organized in honor of the meeting to present Kazakhstani apples, lamb, and confectionery in showcasing the agricultural resources of the country.

Kazakhstan’s lamb exports have also witnessed remarkable growth in other Arab markets.
