Raoof Hasan, spokesperson for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, said that Imran Khan has indicated his wish to meet Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief. According to Hasan, a message would soon reach Fazlur Rehman from Imran Khan.
The People’s Party now works together with JUI-F in the National Assembly, as well as in making joint efforts to build a common platform with them, while Hasan also mentioned that some persons from within PML-N do not want any negotiations and then emphasized that all talks should be with people who have authority.

The PTI spokesperson reiterated the demands which entail the release of political prisoners and formation of a judicial commission, adding that the party hoped opposition parties would come together.
However, Hasan expressed doubts about the government showing any seriousness in that regard, especially concerning Fazlur Rehman. He recalled how Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave ‘assurances’ to the JUI-F leader while he expressed uncertainty regarding what happened from it.
Earlier Maulana Fazlur Rehman had denied any knowledge of a deal regarding Imran Khan’s release. He also rejected the allegations concerning his involvement in obtaining bail for Imran Khan’s family members on the grounds that their affairs were conducted independently. However, the team had said that while PTI did not deserve curtailment in rights for protesters, at this point, it does not seem that Imran will be released.
