Senior PTI leader and advocate Shoaib Shaheen has alleged the government of using the Toshakhana case for political revenge. While speaking outside Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan is incarcerated, Shaheen marked the contrast in the treatment of other political leaders such as Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari, whose cases are not being fast-tracked.
Shaheen alleged that the accusations against Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case are baseless because there was no financial loss and Pakistan was paid to the tune of 190 million pounds. He said that the lack of taking action against other influential people like Hassan Nawaz is unfair.

In terms of the latest moves by the judiciary, Shaheen said that OSD was made up of Judge Ijaz Asif of Rawalpindi while judges who give verdicts against Imran Khan are rewarded. He did mention the November 26 protest and termed it a massacre by the state and demanded the immediate release of all the arrested persons and the formation of a judicial commission.
Shaheen warned that if the government failed to take any action by Sunday, overseas Pakistanis would stop sending remittances and continue their call for civil disobedience. Aleema Khan, another PTI leader and Imran Khan’s sister said the Al-Qadir Trust case would probably be taken to the High Court, which could take up to six months. She also claimed that those arrested during the November 26 protests were being charged with extra charges and that the government had no plans to release them.
