Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), added to the spirit of inclusivity and harmony when he celebrated the Christmas occasion with the Christian community here Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cathedral Church.
Welcoming his presence on the day, the church congregation expressed all its thanks to the COAS for his presence and solidarity during this treasured event, said the news release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

On this day of festivities, the COAS gave his best wishes for Christmas to the whole Christian community of the country.
He laid great stress on the point that Christmas greatly reminds us about the fundamental tenets of compassion, benevolence, and goodwill on which the current diverse civilization is resting.
He went on to acknowledge the significant contributions of Minorities and Christians to Pakistan’s culture, society, economy, and national progress and considered them a source of pride and strength for the nation.
At this event, General Asim Munir paid homage to the founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
According to him, the great visionary leadership of the Quaid, along with his firm determination and coherent adherence to the principles of Faith, Unity, and Discipline, paved the way for the very creation of Pakistan and provides a timeless roadmap for nation-building.
The COAS remarked that Quaid-e-Azam’s undeterred commitment to the ideals of freedom, equality, and religious tolerance inspires and guides the nation in addressing contemporary challenges such as safeguarding territorial integrity and fostering internal stability.
