Microsoft has given out an advisory on a faulty bug concerning the manual Windows 11 installer media. It is a USB or CD media containing an October 2024 or November 2024 patch, which may refrain from installing new installations with further security updates. As said on Microsoft’s known issues page, devices set up with the affected media might permanently be denied any future intake of updates. Systems that update via Windows Update or the Microsoft Update Catalog will not be affected.
Microsoft’s Solution: Blessed is the installation media created after the patch called December 2024, which was released on December 10, 2024. The only remedy available now for those who did not boot from the defective media is to reinstall the operating system by copying the corrected files. So ensure that your installation media for 24H2 Windows 11 has the last fixes applied, or you will have similar problems.

Other Problems: Bleeping Computer published notice of multiple serious issues with Windows 11 version 24H2, including major audio problems, dated Google Workspace Sync problems, and other compatibility issues with Ubisoft games. Engineering is underway to resolve such bugs; however, these lingering problems put such words in question regarding the stability of version 24H2.
Keep Updated: The need for most users to make installation tools and the operating system current was emphasized by Microsoft. They must move quickly and use the official update mechanisms, such as Windows Update, to protect their systems from possible weaknesses and general performance improvements.
