President Joe Biden, as he nears the end of his presidency, announced additional security assistance to Ukraine amounting to $2.5 billion. According to Biden, it clearly expresses and strengthens the United States’ commitment to support Ukraine’s position in the war against Russia. The package includes military support of $1.25 billion from US stockpiles and a $1.22 billion USAI package, which procures military equipment from the defense industry or partners.
Russian troops have kept Ukrainian troops busy while suffering heavy losses as the war approaches its third year. New U.S. assistance will provide Ukraine combat capability for the here and now and capacity building for the long-range, Biden said.

Not much has been pledged to Ukraine-there’s $175 billion under the American taxpayers’ belt-but the fate of this funding will be up in the air when Donald Trump takes over as President on January 20. Trump has promised to wrap up the war very quickly and questioned how much the U.S. is involved, raising the point that European allies should pay much more.
Biden further added that the Defense Department is providing considerable military supplies through artillery rounds, rockets, and armored vehicles for future building preparations for Ukraine against any possible attack during the winter months.
