Raja Jahangir Anwar, Secretary of the Environment Protection Department has pressurized people to remain indoors to avoid inhaling polluted air and to avoid air-borne diseases. He said that many smoke-emitting vehicles have already been confiscated, and air-polluting brick kilns and industries have been closed.
