Pakistan’s new High Commissioner to Canada Muhammad Saleem just landed in Ottawa, marking yet another dignified entry to a brilliant career with a passion for international cooperation.

Joining the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1995, Saleem has a Master’s degree diploma in Diplomacy and Strategy from the National University of Malaysia. Major stages of his career include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diplomatic Missions of Pakistan in Germany, Bahrain, Romania, and Canada. He has also served as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Republic of Tanzania from 2020-2022.
Ambassador Saleem seeks to enhance and consolidate the deep historical ties that exist between Pakistan and Canada in the areas of political, economic, investment, trade, higher education, cultural exchange, and people-to-people contacts.
