Structuring fine daily from January 5, 2025, for violations of residency laws to expatriates and visitors, Kuwait:
The new system states that:
- Registration of newborns incurs a fine of 2 dinars (~Dh24) for the first month and 4 dinars for each succeeding month, capping a maximum fine of 2,000 dinars.
- For work visa violations, a daily fine of 2 dinars will be levied in the first month and 4 dinars per day thereafter, with the total cap at 1,200 dinars.
- Overstaying visit visas attracts a daily fine of 10 dinars, not exceeding 2,000 dinars.

- Temporary departure notice violators will incur a penalty of 2 dinars per day without exceeding 600 dinars for domestic servants.
- Cancellations of residency will now entail a daily fine of 2 dinars for the first month and then escalate to 4 dinars per day thereafter, capped at 1,200 dinars.
- Overstay on temporary residency or an expired renewal of residency can incur a final fee of 2,000 for visitors and 1,200 for a person on residency.
The new fines have already been put into the computer system by the Ministry of Interior, which urges residents or visitors to straighten out their legal status so as not to incur such fines.
