As the Punjab government announces introducing an e taxi scheme, it is the first such initiative in the province.
The scheme, according to Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan, is in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and primarily aims to support unemployed individuals, providing them with avenues to earn an income of their own.

The initiative is also intended to have quality and affordable electric vehicles since it aligns with Punjab’s modern and environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
He added that there was great interest among electric vehicle suppliers who wanted to join in on the work related to the e-taxi project.
