During his visit to the National Police Academy (NPA), Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi announced a whole plan of comprehensive upgrades. While inspecting the hostel, mess, and other sections of the premises, Naqvi checked facilities for trainee officers and interacted with them before joining the trainees at the academy mess to commend food quality.
In a meeting with the NPA head and associated officials, the minister detailed that he had plans to restructure the academy. Meanwhile, he instructed improvements in trainees’ residential facilities with immediate effect while hiring an international consultant to develop a new master plan. Furthermore, Naqvi disclosed that within no time, Rs250 million would be transferred to the NPA by the National Police Foundation for financial independence enhancement. He also stressed that the restructuring plan must be kept within three months, and quick action must be taken to grant it the status of a university.

The minister announced reforms to the ASP course with reference to modern requirements and new training programs in counter-terrorism, anti-riot management, cybercrime, and many others. He recommended excellent officers as top-notch ones, in parity with that of the Military Academy in Kakul, with fine allowances and facilities. Plans for a model police station and state-of-the-art training laboratories were also intimated under discussion. Naqvi reiterated that the National of Police Academy would transform to become international so that it could train officers from all over the world.
