PMD Forecasts Rain and Snowfall in Northern Regions

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that rain will be experienced in association with snow showers over the hilly areas of the northern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjacent areas within the next 24 hours.

Dense to moderate fog is anticipated to linger in the morning and night hours over the plains of Punjab, the northwestern areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Upper Sindh.

According to the PMD, a fronted weather system is at present affecting the upper parts of the country, likely being active until the morning of January 6.

Rainfall and snow have been observed in most parts of the country within the last 24 hours, such as upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. All other regions are cold and have partly cloudy conditions while the majority of districts in Punjab and Upper Sindh witness dense fog.

Gupis made the latest on Friday, recording the lowest temperature in the country -8 degrees Celsius.
