According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the textile exports groups from the country recorded an increase of 9.7 percent during the first half (July-December) of the current fiscal year 2024-25 and stood at $9.09 billion as compared to $8.29 billion during the same period of last fiscal year.
The data showed that textile group exports rose by 5.7 percent in December 2024 and stood at $1.48 billion relative to $1.4 billion in December 2023, similarly showing an increase of 1.3 percent on a month-on-month (MoM) basis as compared with $1.46 billion in November 2024.

According to the overall data of imports and exports, exports were more or less static, with a 1 percent rise in dollar value to reach $2.841 billion in December 2024 from $2.882 billion during the same month of the previous fiscal year.
Imports registered a 14 percent growth at $5.285 billion in December 2024 as compared to $4.635 billion in the same month of the previous fiscal year. The import figure for this month stands as the highest in over two years.
During the first half, exports continued to grow by 11 percent, reaching a value of $16.561 billion. Imports increased by 6 percent and amounted to $27.733 billion in the same period.
