NADRA will soon make available passport facilities at two mega centers in Karachi. The initiative would make access easy for the citizens, thus removing congestion from the central passport office.
Following the decision, citizens may soon go to the NADRA Mega Centre 5 Star Chowrangi and the NADRA Mega Centre Siemens Chowrangi (SITE) to avail of passport services. This venture was made after the Director General of Immigration and Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, visited Karachi to discuss plans for combining passport services with those provided through the NADRA centers.

The current initiative is part of the reforms being undertaken to improve service delivery throughout Pakistan, intending to launch passport services in around 11 mega NADRA centers across the country. This effort has been appreciated by many, who praised it as having put in place a smooth-working system.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi gave assurances to the public that passports would not be taking longer than before, as applicants would soon receive their documents within timelines. The bulk of pending applications has been cleared allowing people to pick up their completed passports from their regional offices, without waiting for notification from the issuing office.
