Punjab Government Reopen Schools in Lahore and Multan

In Lahore and Multan, schools will be reopen Today, as per the announcement made by the Punjab government. There has been a temporary suspension due to the adverse weather conditions of the air quality index. Under which the schools will function under very strict rules in an effort to promote health and safety.

Punjab Government Reopens Schools in Lahore and Multan

The Punjab government has announced the reopening of schools in Lahore and Multan with effect from tomorrow (Wednesday, November 20) after a break due to the severe air quality in the two cities. In line with the health concerns, schools will function following strict regulations.

Key details

Timings: Schools will open not before 8:45 AM.
Masks: All students, teachers, and other staff shall put on masks throughout school hours.
Outdoor Activities: All outdoor games and other activities have been prohibited.

A notification confirming the restarting of classes was issued by the Environment Department Director General, Imran Hamid Sheikh. The department has also directed school administrations to implement these measures effectively to alleviate the impact of smog and air pollution on children and staff.

Earlier this week, the Punjab government also took the decision to reopen all the schools in the province other than Lahore and Multan a few days after the smog situation improved, which saw an increase in the number of schools. Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb cited that this balancing act demonstrated the resolve of the government to safeguard both education and health. However, it should be noted that the people’s help is appreciated in regard to very high states of impossible high smog levels for long periods, and above all, the protection of children comes first.
