CM Maryam Nawaz Increases Honhaar Scholarship Budget to Rs100B

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif of Punjab has declared the budget of the Honhaar Scholarship Program to be raised to Rs.100 billion along with other measures to enrich youth in education and entrepreneurship.

While addressing the occasion of the Honhaar Scholarship Program at Bahauddin Zakariya University, CM Maryam unveiled the announcement of 20,000 more scholarships next year. She further declared interest-free loans of up to Rs.3 crore for startups and small businesses to empower the youth.

Besides, to promote green transport, the Punjab government plans to give away one lakh e-bikes to students next year and establish charging stations in universities and colleges throughout the province of Punjab.

Speaking at the ceremony, CM Maryam stressed the significance of modern education by saying, “We shall manage to equip our children to imbibe skills in artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced IT sciences.”

Assured by CM, it includes financial facilitating students with loans to balance between education and business without burdening families. The government also plans to introduce buses for female students and a new scheme of laptop distribution, with the first batch of laptops procured.

Additionally, CM Maryam promised foreign scholarships for children seeking to study outside the country. “If any child is deprived of education, I will take it as my failure,” she said.

Furthermore, she called upon youth not to get involved in activities that harm public good and encouraged them to instill a pride in morality, dignity, and democratic values. “Disrespect and vandalism have no place in civilized society,” she commented, emphasizing unity and responsible behavior.
