The Foreign Office (FO) dismissed the “baseless and unfounded” allegations concerning Pakistan’s stand on China’s policies, reaffirming that Beijing is Islamabad’s all-weather strategic partner.
The statement came in the backdrop of social media, along with local Indian media reports alleging that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi took part in an event in the United States organized by an anti-Chinese Communist Party lobbying group during his recent visit. In response, Naqvi termed the reports “propaganda” and maintained that he attended no such events and would have rejected any invitation to do so.

Today’s FO statement reiterates Pakistan’s full commitment to the One-China Policy, which is an absolute maximum tenet of the country’s foreign policy, according to spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan. It repeated that the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, which is predicated on trust, common values, and support on key issues alike, strengthens the outlines of the country’s foreign policy.
On the very key investment and financial support made by China, especially under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor that is pivotal to the Pakistan economy, the FO said. Since 2013, Chinese investment has remained at the heart of the infrastructure development across roads, railways, and power projects more or less allied with the Belt and Road initiative.
